Steptoes Junk Yard!

Visited Steptoes Junk Yard with the textiles department as part of our drawing project.
During the visit we took various drawings and rubbbings discovering the wonders and hidden corners or the yard and house which was filled with more little tresures.

Part of our project was to take photos recording colours, textures and patterns....I was in my glory! haha

These are just a few of the photos I have chosen to use...

Paris.......inspirational visit

During my time spent in Paris with the Art School this March I was totally inspired with the rich culture, individuality and their complete appreciation of the arts. Over my time spent there I accumulated over a thousand photographs, later narrowing them down to a valuable 400 which i think could provide me with fashion and textile ideas for years to come. Rather than bore you with the four hundred i will include some of my favorites, two of which will be exhibited in Paris next year.

Visit From The Sergeant....

Fashion Project

For this weeks fashion project I had to explore an Identity. I chose Sergeant James Hutchison of Old Aberdeen which i discovered in an antique 200 year old book, the book which I recently bought was owned by the Sergeant in 1812 and i thought it would be appropriate and interesting to explore his identity in a fashion and stylistic sense.
I discovered much about the Sergent such as where he lived (his house still exists) and some information about his family such as having eight children under the age of twelve, from the eighteen forty one census. I decided to use this identity and book as inspiration for a professional photo shoot I did for a magazine interview (3rd image below)
