On|Off Placement - Stroboscopic Event - London Fashion Week - Landrover

I was selected as for an internship to work with Doll - Creative Events Agency (On|Off) where I was based at London and Paris Fashion Week.

On|Off has an amazing track record of discovering and nurturing new talent such as Peter Polotto, Jasper Conran and Gareth Pugh. This season I was given the chance to  work alongside with the amazing Zandra Rhodes, Cunnington & Sanderson, Bernard Wilhelm and so many more at Paris Fashion Week after opening London Fashion Week with this event.

On|Off’s 2012 launch and Paris preview opened at London Fashion Week with an event at the Rook and Raven Gallery hosted in partnership with Land Rover.

I helped to prepare, organise and set up the event hosted for an exclusive 90 guests audience with celebrities and guests such as Tv host  George Lamb, Pop star Alexandra Burke and Zandra Rhodes, the wonderful iconic fashion designer who I later worked with in Paris Fashion Week.

The designers were married with the music acts in a Jules Holland style showcase, where the musician wore the fashion of the designer. Amanda Lepore the New York transvestite pop star as well as Natt Weller (Son of Singer songwriter Paul Weller) had to be some of the highlights of the music whilst wearing some amazing designs by, Textiles Designer and founder of On|Off Lee Lapthorne and Japanese eccentric fashion designer Yang Du as well as many other up and coming designers.

Acts and Designers:
Amanda Lepore ft Charlie Le Mindu
Martin Creed ft Matteo Molinari
Natt Weller ft Lee Lapthorne
Ryan Styles ft Yang Du
Irina Lazareanu ft Raphaelle H’Limi
Brendan Courtney ft Bronwen Marshall
Along with Early Morning Rebel and Marques Toliver.

Bodybound - Autumn/Winter 2012

I was lucky enough to be given a gift of seated tickets to the OTW Menswear Catwalk show.

Lee Lapthorne, Textiles designer and Founder of Doll- Creative events agency gave me these tickets due to the hard work and determination I was showing during my placement for On|off atLondon & Paris Fashion week. The Catwalk was showcased by Vauxhall Fashion Scout, there was some fantastic collections the first of which being Bodybound.

Bodybound Autumn / Winter 2012, created by young talent Kim Choong-Wilkins, is a heady futuristic collection, taking inspiration from Blade Runner and 2001: A Space Odyssey.

The collection showcased gold cropped jackets with heavy shoulder detailing and matching visors. The gold knitwear was particularly different as well as a wide use of transparent plastic to show the outfit beneath.

Placement at On|Off London & Paris Fashion Week.

I have been selected as an intern for Doll where I will be working at On/Off London Fashion Week & Paris Fashion Week.

Im incredibly excited to be part of Fashion week in both of these AMAZING cities.
This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity - an opportunity of being able to network with Fashionistas from across the globe.

On|Off has a strong international reputation of showcasing 'design over hype' with a track record of discovering and nurturing new talent including Peter Pilotto, Gareth Pugh, Louise Gray, Yang Du, Mark Fast, Aminaka Wilmont and Hannah Marshall to name a few.

I first became involved with On|Off during a "Guest at Grays" Guest Lecture from Lee Lapthorndirector of On|Off PFW and LFW, Fashion consultant, Print designer & external examiner printed textiles St Martins.
He talked of how his career as a textiles designer had influenced his involvement within Fashion week and had resulted into the creation of On|Off which I felt deeply interested in.

There is going to be some truly inspiring designers showcasing their work at On|Off and I'm so excited to see them in action. To read about and see some of the designers who have shown at On|Off click here.

Below is a clip of On|Off Paris - Can you spot Vivienne Westwood and some of the other well known names in Fashion?

Im so excited to begin working in both London and Paris Fashion weeks and you can make sure to keep unto date with both Fashion Weeks as well as all of my own experiences and time in London and Paris via @artnthat on twitter as well as via my schedule below.
